Outdoor Retailer

This was my first introduction to my new position with Honey Stinger and Big Agnes. I have to say, I am loving my job. Although it is a very big change from serving coffee, and requires a lot more in many ways, I couldn't be happier. After the initial set up logistical stuff, we got the show rolling Thursday morning. People started coming in quickly after guests and retailers were allowed inside to check out product and meet with people from each booth.

After a few hours of just greeting people and escorting to the right rep or over to the owners table, I started getting coming over looking for me. Photographers, event organizers, and a slew of others seemed to find their way looking for me. Although nothing I was needed for was really huge or ground breaking, when sitting in with our head of marketing guy Len Zanni, I was able to really learn a lot and also see what cool stuff we have in the works from Big Agnes.

Of course with out going into too much detail over all the days we have been here, it's been an amazing experience, and also a bit of an epic adventure. With so many people from all over the world coming together to show off all their products, or coming in to see products, it can get nuts.

Today, luckily things slowed down a bit for me. I was really able to get some more normal work done, and get more organized for what's coming up next. If anything, the show has been the easy part. Now, or in the next few weeks, it's going to be responding to all the emails and phone calls from the people received our info. Really excited once again, but also a bit nervous when thinking about all the work that is going to be needed from me.

Also today, when getting a break from the crowds, I made a quick coffee run for myself and others at the Big Agnes booth. After I came back I sat down my drink next a box of chews and made me realize how much progress I have made in just the past few years. I went from being the dude behind the counter at Starbucks in Durango, to the marketing coordinator for two of Colorado's best companies. When I sit back I can barely believe it myself, but then as I really think about it, and when in the moment, I realize that this is where I belong, and also how stoked I am to be doing what I am doing.

Well I got to get some sleep, I have been operating on minimal sleep all week and still exhausted from all that's been going on. I will update more once I get back home. Oh how I can't wait to sleep in my own bed and relax.
