Well, my bad luck streak in Durango continues. For some reason I just cannot keep from breaking something whenever I come back into town. This was a really hard thing to accept after preparing for so long for this race period. My main goal as well was to win the Iron Horse Classic in the 3's class so I could get my 2's upgrade. At least I did feel like I could win on Saturday. That makes things a bit better knowing that my form is coming a long. After having a lackluster year last season it's nice to see my form coming back a bit.
Although my weekend went poorly, my buddy Alex Hagman had a great ride in the road race taking second, for the third time, and took second overall in the omnium. There is nothing I love to see more than seeing good friends on the podium, well actually I enjoy standing on the podium a bit more, but if I can't, I am glad he can. As for the rest of the weekend, I am enjoying some nice Durango single track and relaxing with some friends. It's been over a year since I moved away from here, but it already feels longer. I do miss living here at times, but as I spend more time here I see more and more how much happier I am not here. For the place that I am at in life, the Roaring Fork Valley is much better for me. But until I head back, I will be taking full advantage of the hot weather and great social scene.
Over & Out.
