August has flown by. I don't know where time has gone. I have six days left here in Basalt, then it's back to Durango for school and to my new home. I will be moving permanently to Durango this fall and I can not wait. I figure it's probably the best move considering school and biking. I can't wait to get down there, plus once I am there, that means I have taken care of a lot of stupid tasks and last minute chores here that I can't wait to have done.
Tuesday is my last day at Dos Gringos/Cafe Ole', I am super happy to be done working, but really sad to leave at the same time. I have been working here at Dos every summer for the past three years. The owners, Nelson and Julie, along with all the other employee's have practically become family. I am quite certain I will never have a boss as awesome as Nelson and a work environment as amazing as this. But, it is time to move on. I have many more coffee shops to serve at, and many more trails to rally my bike on.
Speaking of the bike, I haven't even been able to ride mine that much lately. And with me not being able to make it to Brian Head or any other real races going on, it seems my mountain bike season has come to an abrupt end. That is something I am really bummed about. I never really felt like I had my race this year. I had a good ride in Deer Valley and managed well with the hand I was dealt in Vermont, but I will still always wonder what happened to that one race. Oh well, that's bike racing, the bad thing about bike racing is that is seems all to often when you have to write off times like this and just say, "that's bike racing". Well I am off to bed, I have another busy tomorrow where I will probably not even get to touch my bike. Oh well, my time to ride will come soon enough and then I can kind of relax, I hope.
